Kotoko Prep: Zito Warns Against Complacency Before Vision FC Clash

Asante Kotoko coach Karim Zito has cautioned his players against complacency ahead of their Ghana Premier League outstanding match against Vision FC. The Porcupine Warriors are set to face Vision FC in Tema on Wednesday, November 12th. This fixture was initially scheduled for Matchday 7 but was postponed due to Kotoko's participation in the CAF Confederation Cup.

Kotoko remains unbeaten in the Ghana Premier League this season, with a recent 1-0 victory over Hearts of Oak boosting their morale. However, Coach Zito emphasizes the importance of staying focused and avoiding overconfidence. He stated that complacency is "dangerous" and has urged his players to maintain their winning mentality.

"We've just left it [Hearts’ victory] after the game," Zito told the club's media. "Myself as a legend, I know [complacency] and it’s very dangerous. We do challenge or warn our players to go out of complacency."

Kotoko currently sits eighth on the league table with 11 points. They have three outstanding matches, offering them a chance to close the gap with league leaders Aduana FC. A victory against Vision FC could propel them into the top four.

The team is scheduled to play two of the three outstanding fixtures away from home and host one at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. After Vision FC, they will host Young Apostles on November 19th and then travel to take on Basake Holy Stars on November 26th.

Key Takeaways from Zito's Message:

  • Avoid complacency after the victory against Hearts of Oak.
  • Maintain focus and determination for the upcoming match against Vision FC.
  • Aim for three points in Tema to climb up the league table.
