Ajax Amsterdam has reportedly reached an agreement with Red Bull Salzburg for the transfer of Israeli international Oscar Gloukh. According to Voetbal International, the deal is valued at around €15 million. While a deal has been struck between the clubs, Ajax still needs to finalize personal terms with the player himself. If all goes according to plan, Gloukh is expected to sign a contract until mid-2030.
Initially, Gloukh seemed financially out of reach for Ajax. However, discussions with Salzburg revealed an opportunity, with Ajax's Alex Kroes willing to go the extra mile to secure their new number 10. Gloukh's manager, Shahar Greenberg, previously told De Telegraaf that Ajax is seen as “a wonderful option.” He added, “Discussions with Alex Kroes are ongoing. Whether an agreement is feasible depends on the figures. They must be good for all parties. And there are several parties interested.”
Greenberg revealed that Ajax has been interested in Gloukh for a while. “Ajax was our first option before Oscar went to RB Salzburg. We were approached by Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and we spoke at the training complex, but Ajax did not then proceed to sign him.”
The 21-year-old Israeli international was reportedly high on Kroes's wish list due to his qualities that Ajax seeks in his position. His arrival is expected to bolster Ajax's attacking options and provide creativity in the midfield.
