Dramatic Rescue at Hersheypark: Boy Found on Monorail Tracks

A potentially dangerous situation unfolded at Hersheypark recently when a young boy was found walking on the park's monorail tracks. Thankfully, the story has a happy ending thanks to the quick thinking of park guests and staff.

According to reports from NBC affiliate WGAL, the boy was separated from his mother and reported missing around 5:05 p.m. on Saturday. During the search, he managed to slip behind chains that were blocking off the monorail area, which was not in operation at the time. He then accessed the elevated tracks.

Video footage shows a crowd of concerned onlookers directing the boy towards a nearby roof where a Hersheypark employee was waiting to assist him. The boy was safely guided to the employee and taken away from the area without any injuries.

"We are grateful for the vigilance of our guests and the swift response of our team, and we remain committed to maintaining the highest levels of guest safety throughout Hersheypark," a park spokesperson told WGAL.

The boy was reunited with his family by 5:28 p.m., less than an hour after being reported missing. Hersheypark officials are reviewing the incident to determine how to prevent similar situations from occurring in the future.

This incident serves as a reminder to always be vigilant and keep a close eye on children, especially in crowded environments like amusement parks.
