Edward Enninful's Next Act: From Vogue to His Own Empire!
Edward Enninful, the celebrated former editor-in-chief of British Vogue, is embarking on a new chapter. After six transformative years at the helm, marked by iconic covers and a commitment to diversity, Enninful is venturing into the world of independent media and design.
A Farewell Cover for the Ages
Enninful's final cover for British Vogue in March 2024 was a testament to his influence. Featuring 40 influential women, including Jane Fonda, Oprah Winfrey, Serena Williams, Cindy Crawford, and Victoria Beckham, the cover shoot was a logistical triumph, showcasing Enninful's ability to unite the biggest names in Hollywood, fashion, and sports.
From i-D to Vogue: A Legacy of Innovation
Enninful's journey in fashion publishing began in his teens at i-D magazine, where he became the youngest editor at a major fashion publication. He then held roles at Italian and American Vogue, as well as W magazine, before returning to London to lead British Vogue in 2017. He was instrumental in groundbreaking projects like Italian Vogue's Black Issue in 2008, which featured only Black models and sold out rapidly.
EE72: A New Media and Entertainment Venture
Enninful's decision to leave Vogue was driven by a desire to pursue his own creative vision. He has launched a new media and entertainment company, EE72, with a print magazine titled '72' as its cornerstone. This venture represents a significant step for Enninful, allowing him to explore new avenues in the fashion and media landscape.
Moncler Collaboration: A Foray into Design
Adding to his impressive portfolio, Enninful recently debuted his first line for Moncler. This collaboration, a partnership with EE72, blends couture-inspired silhouettes with technical expertise and modular design. The collection showcases Enninful's versatility and his ability to translate his editorial vision into tangible fashion pieces. The Moncler x EE72 campaign, lensed by Tyler Mitchell and starring model Adut Akech, embodies resilience, independence, and innovation.
“Working with Moncler has allowed me to push the boundaries of my creativity,” says Enninful.
