The 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo are delivering incredible performances! American sprinter Noah Lyles secured his fourth world title in the men's 200 meters, clocking in at an impressive 19.52 seconds. He held off fellow American Kenny Bednarek, who grabbed silver with a season's best of 19.58 seconds. The race for bronze was incredibly tight, with Jamaica's Bryan Levell edging out Olympic champion Letsile Tebogo by a mere one-hundredth of a second (19.64 to 19.65).
In other exciting news, Melissa Jefferson-Wooden took gold in the women's 200m with a world-leading time of 21.68 seconds. Amy Hunt delivered a stunning performance, surging to a silver medal finish in 22.14 seconds, surpassing Shericka Jackson. The realization on her face was truly priceless!
Canada also saw some strong performances. Maeliss Trapeau achieved a personal best of 1:58.90 in the women's 800-meter semifinals, although it wasn't enough to advance.
