Before the season, Coach Sherrone Moore suggested that Haynes and Jordan Marshall would share the workload. However, Haynes has emerged as the clear leader, with Marshall serving as a capable backup.
Haynes's efficiency is remarkable. Among rushers with over 325 yards, he has the second-fewest attempts, averaging an impressive 7.9 yards per carry.
Michigan's Run Game Improvement
After a slow start to the running game in the first two weeks, Michigan exploded against Central Michigan, racking up 17 runs of 10+ yards. The emergence of freshman quarterback Bryce Underwood as a running threat has also contributed to the team's improved ground attack.
