Priscilla Presley Sets Record Straight! No Feud With Riley Keough!
Priscilla Presley is speaking out to address rumors of a rift with her granddaughter, actress Riley Keough. In a recent interview, Presley clarified that despite ongoing legal battles, her relationship with Keough remains strong and supportive.
Setting the Record Straight
Amidst swirling rumors and a $50 million lawsuit, Priscilla Presley wants to make one thing clear: her issues are not with Riley Keough. "Riley and I have never had a problem," Priscilla told PEOPLE. "I just have one battle, and that's with a certain person." This statement aims to dispel any speculation of discord within the family following the death of Lisa Marie Presley.
The Lawsuit and Allegations
The “certain person” Priscilla refers to is likely connected to the lawsuit filed by her former business partner, Brigitte Kruse, and Kevin Fialko. The lawsuit alleges fraud and breach of contract, claiming Priscilla undermined her daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, to regain control of Elvis's estate. The suit further suggested tension between Priscilla and Riley after Lisa Marie’s passing. Priscilla vehemently denies these claims.
A Close Relationship
Priscilla emphasizes the closeness she shares with Riley. "We're very close," she stated. "We support each other." She also expressed joy in her role as a great-grandmother to Riley's two children with husband Ben Smith-Petersen. "I love her babies," Priscilla said. "I'm really happy for Riley. She's got an amazing husband and two great children, so I'm happy for her very much."
Past Disputes Resolved
Rumors of tension between Keough and Priscilla initially surfaced after Lisa Marie's death in January 2023, when Riley filed a petition questioning the validity of her mother's will. However, the two reached a settlement agreement in May of the same year, with Riley being named the executor of the estate.
Priscilla concludes by saying, "That's what makes me happy: knowing everyone is doing well. I feel I'm living a good life."
