India's Asia Cup Batting Order BLUNDER! Manjrekar Sounds Off!
Cricket Chaos: India's Batting Order Under Fire!
Former cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar has heavily criticized the Team India management for what he calls a disastrous decision to alter the batting order during their crucial Asia Cup 2025 match against Bangladesh. The match, held at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, saw India struggling after the dismissal of Shubman Gill.
The controversial move involved promoting Shivam Dube up the order, a decision that Manjrekar deemed baffling. Dube managed a mere 2 runs off 3 balls and appeared uncomfortable at the crease. This decision was reportedly made by head coach Gautam Gambhir and captain Suryakumar Yadav.
Following Dube's dismissal, Suryakumar Yadav (5) and Tilak Varma (5) also failed to make significant contributions. Adding to the confusion, Sanju Samson was surprisingly demoted in the batting order.
Manjrekar's Scathing Critique
"Messing around with the batting order. I don’t know why Dube was promoted," Manjrekar stated emphatically. "He doesn’t have a better strike rate than the other batters. Suryakumar Yadav’s strike rate is 140. India would have done well had they stuck with the normal batting order."
Manjrekar's comments highlight the importance of consistency and strategic decision-making in high-pressure tournaments like the Asia Cup. The unexpected changes seemingly disrupted the team's momentum, leading to a disappointing performance. The Pakistan vs. Sri Lanka Super Four Match 3 also took place yesterday, September 23rd.
