The dress, a custom creation from Schiaparelli's Spring/Summer 2024 couture collection, is an architectural marvel. Dubbed the “motherboard” dress, it's crafted from pre-2007 electronics, including a BlackBerry Curve phone, USB drives, chipsets, a CPU cooler, and even a Citizen calculator. The dress is also embellished with Swarovski crystals, adding a touch of glamour to the retro-futuristic look.

Styled by the renowned Law Roach, Turner-Smith completed the ensemble with lucite Gianvito Rossi Diana heels and an oversized choker made of acrylic and Swarovski crystals. She also carried a matching clutch with reflective details and Schiaparelli’s signature keyhole motif.

A Growing Trend: Method Dressing

Turner-Smith's bold fashion choice taps into a growing trend of red-carpet method dressing. Other examples include Margot Robbie's Barbie press tour where she recreated doll-inspired looks, Ariana Grande's Glinda-inspired gowns for Wicked, and Cynthia Erivo's witchy green ensembles for Elphaba.

The dress cleverly tied her character’s digital world back to the high-fashion space. Jodie has always excelled at turning fashion into performance, but here, she made it cinematic, thematic, and truly unforgettable.

While some might find the look too literal, it's undeniable that Turner-Smith pulled it off with style and grace, making a statement that perfectly blends fashion, film, and art.
