Garrett Crochet is quickly becoming a leader for the Boston Red Sox. Before their crucial Wild Card Series Game 1 against the New York Yankees, Crochet took charge, demonstrating his influence beyond the pitcher's mound.

Manager Alex Cora revealed that Crochet audibled the team's dress code for their trip to New York. Instead of the planned “comfortable” travel attire, Crochet insisted on business casual. "He has such a big voice that he changed (the dress code)," Cora said. "We were traveling ‘comfortable’ here, and he decided to go business casual. He sent the text out. He overruled the manager.”

Crochet explained his decision, emphasizing the importance of the moment. “This could be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for some guys on this team,” Crochet said. “So I think that we should treat it with the dignity that it deserves.”

Cora has noticed Crochet's leadership qualities since spring training. He even likened Crochet's presence and approach to Alex Bregman, highlighting his dedication and proactive attitude towards helping the team succeed.
