Brewers Manager Gets Tattoo! The Touching Reason Why Will Shock You!
Milwaukee Brewers manager Pat Murphy has taken his admiration for the late, legendary broadcaster Bob Uecker to a whole new level. In a heartfelt tribute, Murphy recently got a tattoo of the memorial patch that the team has been wearing on their jerseys this season since Uecker's passing in January.
“Yeah, I got a tattoo on my sleeve like the players wear on their uniform,” Murphy confirmed at a recent press conference. He mentioned he had told everyone during spring training that he planned on getting a Uecker tattoo.
The tattoo, created by Scottsdale, Arizona-based artist Justin Gorelik, is a permanent reminder of Uecker's impact on the Brewers organization and its fans. The 2025 season has been dedicated to honoring Uecker, with tributes including specially manicured grass in his trademark plaid pattern, his signature painted onto the field, the uniform patches, and a celebration of life where players wore “Ueck” jerseys.
The Brewers unveiled the uniform patch ahead of the 2025 season, featuring Uecker's signature over a baseball surrounded by a ring of plaid, representing his signature sportscoats. They also honored him by painting his signature on the field and having all players wear Uecker jerseys during a celebration of his life in August.
Uecker, who passed away at age 90, was the voice of the Brewers for over five decades, beginning in 1971. He was not only a broadcaster but also a beloved personality, known for his comedic timing and appearances on shows like The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson and Mr. Belvedere. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2003.
Murphy and the Brewers are currently preparing for the NLDS, and this tattoo serves as a powerful reminder of the legacy Uecker left behind.
