ARAM enthusiasts, rejoice! Riot Games is shaking up the Howling Abyss with a brand new ARAM experience launching on June 25, 2025, with patch 25.13. Get ready for a three-map rotation and improvements to the Champion Select process.

Say Goodbye to ARAM Boredom: New Map Rotation

For years, the Howling Abyss has been the sole battleground for ARAM matches. Now, Riot is introducing a rotation of three distinct maps, designed to inject fresh variety and strategic possibilities into the game mode.

  • Howling Abyss: The classic ARAM map remains in the rotation, offering the familiar and beloved gameplay experience.
  • Butcher’s Bridge: Returning from the past, Butcher's Bridge features a unique mechanic: canons that propel players to designated locations on the map. These canons offer exciting opportunities for aggressive plays and strategic repositioning. A new alcove in the center of the map also adds tactical depth.
  • Koeshin’s Crossing: (The original article cut off information here. Further research would be needed to fully flesh out this section.)

According to Eduardo Cortejoso, Modes Product Lead at Riot Games, these changes are intended to be permanent, however the team is open to feedback and may adjust the rotation based on player response.

A Returning Legacy Item: Spectral Cutlass

Adding to the excitement, shopkeepers have updated their inventories with a returning legacy item: the Spectral Cutlass. This item, available on all three maps, is designed to benefit assassins and mobility-focused champions, offering new build paths and playstyles within ARAM.

The overall goal of these changes is to introduce positive adjustments to the ARAM experience. With new maps, the return of the Spectral Cutlass, and ongoing feedback monitoring, Riot aims to keep ARAM fresh, engaging, and fun for all players.
