According to the Port of Seattle, a passenger on a Horizon Air flight bound for Walla Walla made a "flippant remark regarding a bomb" while the plane was taxiing to the runway. Alaska Airlines stated that the passenger made “a direct threat to the safety of the aircraft” while speaking to a flight attendant. Following established security protocols, the flight crew immediately moved the aircraft to a remote runway and alerted law enforcement.
Runway Closures and Flight Disruptions
The incident initially led to the closure of two runways, 16R and 16C, resulting in a temporary ground stop for some incoming flights.
