NYT Connections: Sports Edition & Daily Puzzle Hints for June 20
The New York Times' popular word game, Connections, has a new Sports Edition designed to test the knowledge of sports fans! Like the original, Connections challenges players to find the “common threads between words”. With each new set of words getting trickier, here are some hints and tips to help you conquer today's puzzle.
What is Connections: Sports Edition?
This latest daily word game from the NYT is in collaboration with The Athletic, the New York Times' sports coverage provider. Available on web browsers and mobile devices, players must group four words that share a common link. Each puzzle has 16 words, divided into four categories that could include anything from book titles to software names. While multiple words might seem to fit together, there's only one correct answer per group.
Getting all four words in a set right removes them from the board. Making a wrong guess counts as a mistake, and players get four mistakes before the game ends. Players can shuffle the board to make spotting connections easier. The groups are color-coded: yellow (easiest), green, blue, and purple. Just like Wordle, results can be shared on social media.
