San Francisco 49ers star tight end George Kittle is making headlines both on and off the field. From playfully intimidating rookie Mykel Williams to enjoying his debut at the American Century Championship, Kittle is keeping busy this offseason.

Kittle's 'Welcome to the NFL' for Rookie Williams

Kittle, known for his dominant blocking, is already giving first-round pick Mykel Williams a taste of the NFL. Kittle recounted his early interactions with Williams, stating, "I get to run outside zone against Mykel Williams, and so that’s going to be really fun because he was telling me how he thinks it’s disrespectful for tight ends to block him. And I was like, welcome to the NFL baby. You’re going to see something different on these practices, I promise you that.” Kittle's PFF run block grade of 84.5 is the best for NFL tight ends over the last seven seasons, so Williams is in for a challenge.

Golf Debut and WWE Rivalry

Kittle made his debut at the American Century Championship in South Lake Tahoe, admitting to some pre-tournament jitters. He even jumped in the lake at 6 a.m. to prepare! While enjoying the golf, Kittle also has his sights set on other goals: finishing ahead of Charles Barkley and potentially confronting his WWE nemesis, The Miz. He even teased a possible Taylor Swift appearance to support Travis Kelce.

Comparing Rookie Classes

Kittle sees similarities between the 49ers' 2025 draft class and his own rookie year. "I’m expecting a lot of them [the rookies] to contribute at a high level. It kind of reminds me of my rookie class. They [the coaching staff] expected, basically, our whole draft class to play and perform, and I think a lot of us did play and perform our rookie year.” With players like Mykel Williams, Alfred Collins, and others expected to play significant roles, the 49ers are hoping this draft class will be transformative.

Looking Ahead

Kittle is excited for training camp, which starts July 22. The 49ers have 20-1 odds to win the Super Bowl, and Kittle will be a key part of their success. Whether it's blocking on the field, golfing with celebrities, or stirring up rivalries, George Kittle remains a captivating figure in the NFL.
