Jay-Z Fires Back! Love Child Claims Deemed 'Fabricated' - Legal Battle Rages
Jay-Z is vehemently denying claims made by Rymir Satterthwaite, who alleges the rapper is his biological father. In newly filed court documents, Jay-Z (Shawn Carter) is asking a federal judge to intervene and dismiss Satterthwaite's lawsuit, calling it the latest in a "decades-long harassment campaign."
Satterthwaite, 31, filed the suit in May, accusing Jay-Z of avoiding a paternity test and using his celebrity status to silence him. He claims the rapper has exploited legal systems to suppress his paternity claim, causing him emotional distress, public embarrassment, and health complications. He also alleges a violent threat against him in the form of a car shooting which he believes was a message intended to silence him.
Jay-Z's Response: 'Fabricated Allegations'
Jay-Z's legal team has responded strongly, asserting that Satterthwaite's claims are "fabricated allegations" that have been previously "addressed and rejected" by multiple courts. They also noted that Satterthwaite's continued pursuit of these claims has resulted in contempt orders. Jay-Z says he only learned of the new lawsuit on June 3 and requested additional time to prepare a formal response.
A History of Legal Battles
This isn't the first time Satterthwaite has made these claims. He initially alleged paternal ties to Jay-Z in 2015, accusing the rapper of evading a paternity test and using his influence to bully him. According to court documents obtained by Us Weekly, Jay-Z's lawyer argued that he would be irreparably prejudiced without additional time to evaluate and prepare his response to the complaint. The Roc Nation founder’s attorney also said they contacted Satterthwaite’s caregiver to request additional time to respond, but she hung up on her.
Satterthwaite alleges his late mother, Wanda Satterthwaite, had a relationship with Jay-Z in the 1990s. He claims the years-long legal battle has caused him significant emotional and psychological distress.
The legal battle continues, with Jay-Z seeking to shut down Satterthwaite's lawsuit and Satterthwaite determined to prove his claims of paternity. The courts will now decide the next steps in this ongoing saga.
