Keenan Allen's Next Move? Steelers & Jets Eye Veteran WR!
Veteran wide receiver Keenan Allen, coming off a productive 2024 season with the Chicago Bears, remains a coveted free agent. While he proved he can still perform at a high level, speculation is swirling about where the six-time Pro Bowler will land for the 2025 season.
Steelers in the Hunt for Allen?
Bleacher Report's Moe Moton predicts that Allen will join Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Moton highlights Pittsburgh's aggressive offseason moves, including the additions of Rodgers, Darius Slay, DK Metcalf, Jalen Ramsey, and Jonnu Smith, suggesting they are in "win-now" mode. Adding Allen would provide Rodgers with another reliable target.
"The Steelers should make another move for a wide receiver to help Rodgers. Keenan Allen could fit within their receiver rotation," Moton stated.
Jets Could Steal Allen Away
However, the Steelers aren't the only team that could benefit from Allen's skillset. The New York Jets are also reportedly interested. Snatching Allen from under the Steelers' noses would be a strategic coup, especially given the anticipated Week 1 matchup between Rodgers and his former team.
Allen's versatility, his ability to line up both inside and outside, makes him an attractive option for any team seeking wide receiver depth.
Allen's Impressive 2024 Season
Despite being 33 years old, Allen demonstrated his continued value in 2024. He finished second on the Bears in receptions (70) and receiving yards (744) and led the team with seven touchdown receptions.
- 70 Receptions
- 744 Receiving Yards
- 7 Touchdown Receptions
The coming weeks will reveal where Allen decides to continue his NFL career. Will he join Rodgers in Pittsburgh, bolster the Jets' receiving corps, or surprise everyone with a different destination?
