Former WWE Superstar Sonya Deville has announced her retirement from professional wrestling, at least for now. In a recent interview, Deville (real name Daria Berenato) revealed that she is at peace with stepping away from the ring, but left the door open for a potential return down the line.
Loyalty and 'Open Wounds'
Deville, who parted ways with WWE earlier this year after the company chose not to renew her contract, expressed deep loyalty to the promotion. She admitted that the thought of wrestling for another company feels like an "open wound."
"Definitely for now. Never say never," Deville stated. "But right now I feel at peace with that... I was so loyal to the company, it was my only home from 21 years old to 31. I'm a ride or die type of person in general. So it's weird to even think about doing that, but not there."
Acting Dreams and MMA Possibilities
While wrestling may be on hold, Deville is now pursuing her lifelong dream of acting. She emphasized that this path feels genuine to what she has always wanted in her life.
However, a return to combat sports isn't entirely off the table. Deville mentioned that she's doing some light MMA training and might be interested in exploring opportunities in that arena.
