State Fair Alert! Trail Closure & New Biergarten Announced!

Get ready for the 2025 Wisconsin State Fair! The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR), in collaboration with Wisconsin State Fair Park officials, has announced a temporary closure of a portion of the Hank Aaron State Trail. This closure, between S. 76th St. and S. 84th St., will be in effect from July 31st to August 10th, 2025, to prioritize the safety and security of fairgoers.
According to John Yingling, Chairman of the Wisconsin State Fair Park Board of Directors, this security measure is essential to protect visitors, exhibitors, vendors, operators, and staff. Alternate routes will be clearly marked with signage posted by State Fair Park staff prior to the closure, beginning July 31st at 8 a.m. Additional striping for bike lanes will also be added to guide users along the alternative routes.
But that's not all! Milwaukee's own Lakefront Brewery is teaming up with Benno's Concessions to bring you the "Lakefront Brewery Biergarten" at the Wisconsin State Fair. Located near the Bank Five Nine Amphitheater, this Biergarten promises a delightful experience with a wide selection of Lakefront Brewery beers, slushies, cocktails, and mocktails.
What to Expect at the Lakefront Brewery Biergarten
- Classic Brews: Enjoy favorites like Riverwest Stein, IPA, Hazy Rabbit, Dive Beer, Fruit Wagon, and Oktoberfest.
- Gluten-Free Options: New Grist Pilsner and New Grist Grosa Rita will be available for those with dietary restrictions.
- Classic Cocktails: Bloody Marys, Old Fashioneds, and Margaritas will also be served.
- Frozen Fun: Look out for exciting frozen cocktail flavors.
This marks the first official partnership between Lakefront Brewery and Benno's Concessions, though they have served Lakefront brews in previous years. The Biergarten's prime location offers a great spot to enjoy the sights and sounds of the State Fair.
