The Indiana Fever have signed Australian forward Chloe Bibby to a seven-day contract, adding depth and experience to their roster. Bibby, 27, recently played for the Golden State Valkyries and brings a versatile skillset to the Fever.

Bibby's journey back to the WNBA has been swift. After a stint with the Valkyries, she competed with the Australian national team, securing a gold medal at the FIBA Women’s Asia Cup. Her international success and prior WNBA experience make her a valuable addition to the Fever.

During her time with the Golden State Valkyries, Bibby appeared in five games, averaging 6.4 points and 2.8 rebounds. Her ability to shoot from beyond the arc, with a 42.1% three-point shooting percentage, could provide a much-needed offensive boost for the Fever.

International Success and Accolades

Bibby's success extends beyond the WNBA. She has earned MVP honors in both the Polish League and the Liga Femenina de Baloncesto in Spain, showcasing her talent and impact on the court. Her recent gold medal win with the Australian Opals further solidifies her reputation as a skilled and accomplished player. She averaged 8 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game during the Asia Cup.

How Bibby Fits with the Fever

Coach Stephanie White highlighted Bibby's size and ability to stretch the floor as key factors in her addition to the team. Her presence will create more space inside for Aliyah Boston and provide the Fever with another scoring threat. Bibby herself expressed excitement about joining the Fever, noting their fast-paced and physical style of play.

"I’m really excited," Bibby said. "To be back in the W and to have another crack is really exciting...I'm taking it all in stride right now and going one step at a time, but everyone's been super helpful. It's been a good transition."

The Indiana Fever will face the Chicago Sky on Sunday, July 27. It remains to be seen if Bibby will make her debut in the game.
