Margaret Qualley: From Lonely Hearts to Finding 'The One' with Jack Antonoff!
Margaret Qualley, the actress known for her roles in "The Substance" and the upcoming "Happy Gilmore 2," is opening up about her journey to finding love with her husband, music producer Jack Antonoff. In a recent interview, Qualley revealed that she "felt really lonely" in previous relationships before finding her perfect match in Antonoff.
Qualley's Past Relationships and the Search for 'Her Person'
Before meeting Antonoff, Qualley confessed to feeling a void in her relationships. "In every other relationship I’ve ever been in, I still felt really lonely because I wasn’t with my person, and it’s like I was seeking something," she shared. This feeling of loneliness stemmed from a constant effort to be someone else's ideal partner, a persona that shifted with each relationship.
Finding Comfort and Safety with Antonoff
Everything changed when Qualley met Antonoff. "I don’t feel like that anymore. Jack makes me feel safe and comfortable," she explained. With Antonoff, she found the freedom to be herself, shedding the need to conform to expectations. "I can’t lie to Jack. I can’t be that for him — he’d see through it. So I just have to be myself."
Qualley and Antonoff's romance blossomed in 2021, beginning with a chance encounter on a rooftop. They married in August 2023 in New Jersey, surrounded by A-list celebrities like Taylor Swift, Zoë Kravitz, and Lana Del Rey. Qualley described the wedding as "so much fun."
Qualley is currently starring in "Happy Gilmore 2," the long-awaited sequel to Adam Sandler's cult golf comedy, and has several other projects premiering soon, including "Honey Don't!" and "Blue Moon."
Interestingly, Qualley also revealed that her first celebrity crush was Adam Sandler in "Happy Gilmore," adding a touch of humor to her romantic journey. It seems she found her 'Happy Gilmore' in Antonoff after all!
