South African forward Cassius Mailula has officially joined Belgian Challenger Pro League side KV Kortrijk on loan from Toronto FC. The move provides the 24-year-old with a new opportunity to showcase his talents in Europe.

Mailula, a former Mamelodi Sundowns star, had a previous loan spell with Wydad Casablanca in Morocco before returning to Toronto. Despite limited appearances for the Canadian club, where he scored two goals and provided one assist in eight games, Mailula's potential has attracted interest from KV Kortrijk.

"Mailula is an offensive player who can play in multiple positions," said Sporting Director Nils Vanneste on the club's official website. "He played at the FIFA Club World Cup this summer, where he also scored."
