Bafana Bafana Bungle! Bradford and Lincoln Lock Horns in League One Stalemate

Bradford City missed a golden opportunity to top League One after a goalless draw against Lincoln City at the University of Bradford Stadium. The match, played on Tuesday, 28th October 2025, saw both sides battle it out, but neither could find the back of the net.

Lincoln started the brighter of the two, putting pressure on Bradford's defence early on. James Collins had a decent chance, created by Adam Reach, but couldn't capitalise. Rob Street and Tom Bayliss also fired shots over the bar as the Imps looked to take control.

It took almost half an hour for Bradford to show any real attacking intent. Will Swan shot across goal, and Jenson Metcalfe went close with a curling effort that drifted just past the post. At the end of the first half, Walker, Bradford's goalkeeper, was called into action to save a shot from Reach.

A touching moment occurred in the 56th minute as fans from both sides stood to applaud in remembrance of those who lost their lives in the tragic Valley Parade fire 40 years prior, during a match between the same two clubs.

Antoni Sarcevic finally tested Lincoln's keeper, George Wickens, after 66 minutes, before Walker made another save, this time from Ben House. Late in the game, Tommy Leigh had a chance to score the winner for Bradford after Tyreik Wright's shot was parried, but he couldn't convert the rebound.

The Imps' head coach, Michael Skubala, made three changes to his starting lineup. Justin Obikwu made his first League One start, Adam Reach returned from injury, and James Collins was back up front. Obikwu looked particularly dangerous early on, linking up well with Reach to create several opportunities.

Ultimately, neither side could break the deadlock, resulting in a 0-0 draw. While Bradford will be disappointed not to have taken all three points, Lincoln will be pleased with a hard-fought point away from home. The game highlighted the competitive nature of League One, where every point is crucial.
