Kaizer Chiefs' DStv Diski Challenge champions are taking their talents overseas! The Amakhosi youth team has embarked on an exciting 11-day tour of the United Kingdom, culminating in matches against Manchester United, Leeds United, and Queens Park Rangers (QPR) U21. This incredible opportunity is a reward for their outstanding performance and victory in the 2024/25 DStv Diski Challenge.
Chiefs vs. Man U: A Dream Match
The tour kicked off on November 25th, 2025, and the young Glamour Boys are set to face Manchester United on November 28th. This match presents a massive opportunity for the Soweto Giants to showcase their potential on a European stage. Following the clash with the Red Devils, they'll take on Leeds United on December 2nd and wrap up the tour against QPR U21 on December 6th in London.
Motaung Jr. on the Challenges Ahead
Kaizer Motaung Jr., Sporting Director for Kaizer Chiefs, expressed his excitement about the tour and the challenges it presents. He acknowledged the high level of competition and emphasized the valuable learning experience it will provide for the players. However, not all of the team made the trip. Coach Vela Khumalo and striker Neo Bohloko missed out because they were at the U-17 FIFA World Cup during the time the team was busy with biometrics for their visa.
Beyond the Matches: A Holistic Experience
The tour extends beyond just the matches. The team will also participate in academy exchange visits with Manchester United and Liverpool, offering invaluable knowledge-sharing opportunities. Additionally, they will attend a Premier League fixture between Leeds United and Chelsea and enjoy a day in London, including a visit to the Premier League offices. This comprehensive experience aims to provide the young players with a taste of international football and a broader understanding of the game.
