Marumo Gallants and Magesi FC battled to a 1-1 draw in their recent Betway Premiership clash at the Dr. Molemela Stadium. The match, played on Sunday, saw Gallants dominate possession, but ultimately settle for a single point.
Gallants Dominate, Magesi Strike First
Gallants started strong, with Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo testing the Magesi defense early. However, against the run of play, Kgomotso Mosadi fired Magesi into the lead with a well-taken free-kick just before the half-hour mark.
Clifford's Impact
Gallants responded swiftly. After Ndlondlo's injury-forced substitution, Jaisen Clifford entered the game and made an immediate impact. He leveled the score in the 42nd minute, guiding a right-footed shot into the net.
Second Half Stalemate
The second half saw Gallants continue to press, with Bheki Mabuza and Ibrahim Bance creating chances. Magesi struggled to gain a foothold, spending much of the half defending. While Magesi showed glimpses of threat through Edmore Chirambadare and Mosadi, Gallants held firm. Despite late pressure from Magesi, neither side could find a winning goal, resulting in a 1-1 draw.
PSL Round-Up
In other PSL action, Polokwane City and TS Galaxy played out a goalless draw, leaving both teams level on points. Siwelele FC and Chippa United also shared the spoils in a 0-0 stalemate. Richards Bay secured a 2-0 victory over AmaZulu.
Katlego Otladisa, former Orlando Pirates star, was named Man of the Match for Gallants. The draw extends Gallants' winless run to five games. The PSL will soon pause for the African Cup of Nations (AFCON).
