Eish! Real Madrid were held to a 1-1 draw by Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia in the Club World Cup. This was new coach Xabi Alonso's first game in charge. Ja, Manchester City, on the other hand, had a lekker winning start.

In the late game, Juventus gave Al Ain a klap, thrashing them 5-0 in Washington. Before the game, they even visited US President Donald Trump at the White House!

Federico Valverde had a penalty saved in stoppage time, so Real had to settle for a point in the Group H match in Miami. They had taken the lead, nogal. It was a disappointing result for the many Real Madrid fans in the crowd of 62,415 at Hard Rock Stadium.

"The first half wasn't as lekker as the second one. In the second half we had better chances, better control. For sure we have the principles to start building something, but we could have won," Alonso told DAZN.

Alonso gave new signings Trent Alexander-Arnold and Dean Huijsen their debuts in defence. But Real were missing Kylian Mbappe because he was feeling a bit kak. Gonzalo Garcia started in his place and scored just after the half-hour mark after a Rodrygo assist.

Al Hilal hit back with Ruben Neves levelling the score before the break from the penalty spot. Real had a chance to win in stoppage time, but Valverde's penalty was saved.

RB Salzburg took the lead in Group H with a 2-1 win over Pachuca. The match was stopped early in the second half because of a storm but resumed later.

Phil Foden and Jeremy Doku scored in the first half as Man City easily beat Wydad 2-0.
