Kaizer Chiefs have officially announced the signing of Ethan Chislett, the former Port Vale midfielder, ahead of the 2025/26 season! The Durban-born player, whose father Donovan also played in the Premier Soccer League, is returning home after a decade in England.

Chiefs Secure Talented Midfielder

As reported earlier, the 26-year-old has signed a two-year contract with the Amakhosi, with an option to extend. Chislett is seen as a versatile player capable of playing in multiple midfield positions, including as a number 10, an eight, or as a wide midfielder. His agent, Mike Makaab, recently described him as a potential surprise package for the upcoming season.

"Ethan Chislett is exciting. We're talking to a number of clubs in the country... He has a great engine, but his technical ability, to pass, score goals, set-pieces, it's absolutely phenomenal. I am quietly confident we will see him in the PSL this season," Makaab said.

Chislett Chooses Chiefs Over England

Chislett reportedly turned down offers from clubs in the English second tier to join Kaizer Chiefs, driven by his desire to play in South Africa and potentially break into the senior national team.

Sources within the Kaizer Chiefs technical team confirm that Chislett is expected to arrive in South Africa on Thursday to begin his journey with the Soweto giants. He brings a wealth of experience, having scored 16 goals and provided 13 assists in 168 games for Port Vale and AFC Wimbledon over the past five seasons.

  • Signed a two-year deal with Kaizer Chiefs
  • Can play as a 10, 8, or wide midfielder
  • Rejected offers from English second-tier clubs
  • Arriving in South Africa this Thursday

This signing is a major boost for Kaizer Chiefs as they look to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season. Keep checking newsrpt.com for updates.
