Liverpool's pre-season is heating up, and while new signings like Florian Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong are making their mark, it's the young guns, Trey Nyoni and Rio Ngumoha, who are stealing the show. The Reds recently wrapped up their Asia tour with a 3-1 victory over Yokohama Marinos, a match that saw both Nyoni and Ngumoha find the back of the net after Liverpool initially went a goal down.

Nyoni & Ngumoha: Future Stars at Anfield?

Andy Robertson, a seasoned veteran at Liverpool, has been particularly impressed with the two teenagers. He highlighted their positive attitudes and the invaluable guidance they receive from senior players like Mo Salah. Robertson noted that with each training session and game, Nyoni and Ngumoha are visibly improving, suggesting a bright future for both.

"They’re so young but they’re such good kids and they’ve got a hell of a future ahead of themselves," Robertson said. "You can just see them coming on every time and the more they train and play with us, the more they just get better and better."

Rio Ngumoha: A Rising Star

Ngumoha, a 16-year-old, joined Liverpool last year after spending his youth career at Chelsea. He already holds the record for being the youngest starter in Liverpool's history, a milestone achieved in an FA Cup match against Accrington Stanley. His electric performance off the bench against Yokohama Marinos further cements his status as a player to watch.

Trey Nyoni: Breaking Records

Nyoni, 18, joined Liverpool in 2023 and has already etched his name in the club's history books as the youngest-ever Liverpool player to feature in a European competition. His goal against Yokohama Marinos showcased his potential and ability to contribute to the team's attacking prowess.

While Ngumoha and Nyoni aren't expected to play major roles this season, their impressive pre-season performances suggest that they are well on their way to becoming key players for Liverpool in the future. The support of senior players and the guidance of manager Arne Slot will undoubtedly play a crucial role in their development.
