Prez Mahama Gifts Kotoko, Gold Stars $50k Each For Africa!

Former President John Dramani Mahama don give Bibiani Gold Stars and Asante Kotoko Football Clubs $50,000.00 each. E happen for inside the Presidency for Accra on Saturday. Ah, chale! Money dey flow!

According to reports, the money dey come as part of Government support for the two teams so dem go fit win the 2025-2026 Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League and Confederations Cup. E be like government dey want see Ghana teams shine for Africa top.

Prez Mahama talk say the money go help the teams pay for air tickets and accommodation when dem travel outside Ghana. Travel no be beans, so e dey make sense make government support.

He remember some of the good old days of Ghana soccer and hail Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak for their performances for the 1960s and 70s. He beg the players to bring back the glory days. Ghana soccer get history o!

“And so as you go into Africa, I want to encourage you to do us proud. We will stand by you. We will help you,” na wetin Prez Mahama talk. He dey give the teams motivation.

He also talk say the 2026 budget dey go cater for the construction of seven brand new stadiums. Every region go get stadium wey dey fit for purpose. So that we go fit improve the playing conditions and make our football more competitive.
