Former Ghana international Laryea Kingston dey go be di head coach for all Uganda national men’s junior football teams. Di Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) announce am on Wednesday, October 8, 2025. Dem give am two-year contract.
FUFA CEO Edgar Watson talk say dis appointment show say dem dey serious about improving youth football for di kontri. Kingston before be coach for Ghana U-17 team. Now, after 24 years wey he play for U-17 FIFA World Cup, he dey return as coach for Uganda.
Kingston go coach di Under-15 and Under-20 national teams too. He talk say e be dream come true for am. He bin wan play for World Cup before, and e happen. Now he wan go back as coach, and e dey happen again. He talk say e be chance to bring young players together to achieve something.
Kingston play 41 times for Ghana senior team. He get plenty experience from playing for Accra Hearts of Oak and Great Olympics. He also give credit to Right to Dream Academy and Tom Vernon for helping am become coach.
He start coaching at Right to Dream Academy, wey he coach di U-18 team. Later, dem appoint am as head coach for Ghana U-17 male team, di Black Starlets. Now, he go dey lead Uganda U-17 side go FIFA World Cup!
