The former Board Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Infrastructure Investment Fund (GIIF), Prof. Christopher Ameyaw-Akumfi and Solomon Asamoah respectively, are seeking a variation of their bail conditions. Dem dey want the court to change the part wey dey force dem to dey report to the case investigators always.

Prof. Ameyaw-Akumfi and Mr. Asamoah dey face trial for allegedly causing financial loss of $2 million to the state through a sky train project. Dem don plead not guilty to six counts, including conspiracy, willfully causing financial loss to the state, and intentional dissipation of public funds.

Currently, Prof. Ameyaw-Akumfi dey report to the police once every week, while Asamoah dey report three times a week (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday). Dem grant dem bail of GH¢25 million each with two sureties.

Yesterday, their lawyers beg the court make dem change the bail terms wey dey force their clients to dey report to investigators. But the judge, Justice Comfort Tasiame, tell the lawyers to file a formal application with reasons, so the Attorney-General go respond.

The case has been postponed to June 24, 2025, for a Case Management Conference (CMC). The Deputy Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Dr. Justice Srem-Sai, go withdraw some witness statements for the mata.
