Lawyers for the former Board Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Infrastructure Investment Fund (GIIF) dey try make court change their bail conditions, wey dey force dem to report to the case investigators.

The two people, Prof. Christopher Ameyaw-Akumfi, wey be former Board Chairman of GIIF, and Solomon Asamoah, wey be former CEO of GIIF, dey face trial for High Court say dem cause financial loss of $2 million for deal to build sky train for the country.

Dem don plead not guilty to six counts of conspiracy, willfully causing financial loss to the state, and intentional dissipation of public funds. Dem grant dem bail for combined sum of GH¢25 million plus two justified sureties.

Prof. Ameyaw-Akumfi dem tell am say make e dey report to police once every week, while Asamoah bail conditions say make e dey report to the investigator every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Yesterday, when dem call the case, the lawyers for the two people beg the court say make e change the bail terms wey dey force their clients to dey report to investigators. Dem do this one through oral application.

But the court, wey Justice Comfort Tasiame dey preside over, tell the lawyers say make dem file the application with stated reasons so Attorney-General go respond.

Dem don adjourn the case to June 24, 2025, for Case Management Conference (CMC). Na there the Deputy Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Dr. Justice Srem-Sai, go withdraw some witness statements for the matter.
