According to Mr. Jinapor, even though things dey improve small for the power sector, to fix am completely go need sacrifice from both government and citizens. He talk say dem dey pay major companies like ENI, Tullow, and WAPCo regularly now.

But the big news be say, government dey bring back the Energy Sector Recovery Levy for petrol products. You remember that levy wey dem stop because of wahala for the world? Well, e dey back now, and dem go use am pay old debts.

Why the Levy Dey Back?

Mr. Jinapor explain say ECG (Electricity Company of Ghana) get debt of about GH¢6.7 billion! E say if dem no do anything, the debts go destroy our energy infrastructure. That be why dem dey bring back the levy, so dem fit pay the debts.

He also talk say Ghana dey try stop relying on the Ministry of Finance to pay suppliers like Nigerian Gas and WAPCo. Dem dey work towards make the energy sector stand on its own feet financially.
