Ex-Barca Star Carles Pérez Hospitalised After Dog Chop Genitals!
Former Barcelona starlet Carles Pérez is currently sidelined from action at Greek club Aris Thessaloniki after a very unfortunate incident. He was bitten in the genitals by a dog, requiring immediate hospital treatment. Eeiiish!
According to reports, the 27-year-old winger sustained the injury while walking his own dog. The incident happened when he tried to separate his pet from another dog, which resulted in a bite to his groin area, leaving him with a deep wound that needed medical attention. Herrrh, serious matter!
Pérez featured in Aris’ 2–1 defeat against Araz-Nakhchivan in the first leg of the UEFA Europa Conference League second qualifying round. Unfortunately, he is expected to miss the return leg in Thessaloniki because of the injury. This be serious blow for the team.
The Spanish youth international was hoping to revive his career in Greece after joining Aris on loan, with an option to buy. He spent last season on loan at Getafe but didn't earn a permanent move, and parent club Celta Vigo had been looking to facilitate his departure for several months.
Pérez has only made one appearance for Aris so far—playing the full 90 minutes in the first-leg defeat—before this unexpected incident stopped his progress. We wish am speedy recovery!
Aris Thessaloniki Statement
The club confirmed the news in a brief statement on their website: “According to the test results, Carles Perez suffered a soft tissue infection from a dog bite.”
Media reports claim the injury is a lactation to the player’s genitals and he will likely need surgery. Furthermore, ‘Aris reserves all its legal rights against the owner of the attacking dog’.
Update from Pérez
Perez has since offered an update himself, seemingly suggesting it wasn't his genitals that were bitten.
