Norman Reedus' Son, Mingus, Arrested! Assault Charges Rock NYC!
Mingus Reedus, Son of 'Walking Dead' Star, Faces Assault Charges
Mingus Reedus, the 25-year-old son of actor Norman Reedus (best known for his role in 'The Walking Dead') and model Helena Christensen, has been arrested in New York City following an alleged assault. The incident occurred on Saturday morning in Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood.
According to the New York Police Department (NYPD), officers responded to a report of an assault in progress. Upon arrival, they found a 33-year-old woman with minor injuries to her neck and leg. She was taken to Bellevue Hospital for treatment. Mingus Reedus was taken into custody at the scene.
Five Charges Filed Against Reedus
Court records indicate that Mingus Reedus has been charged with five counts, including:
- Third-degree assault
- Assault recklessly causing injury
- Criminal obstruction of breathing
- Second-degree harassment
- Aggravated harassment
Reedus pleaded not guilty to all charges during his court appearance on Saturday. His attorney, Priya Chaudhry, released a statement emphasizing her client's presumption of innocence and expressing confidence that the facts will demonstrate his innocence.
"Despite what the prosecutor said in court — which is not evidence — they chose to charge Mingus with misdemeanors or less," Chaudhry stated. She also highlighted the judge's decision to release Mingus Reedus on his own recognizance, without bail or supervision.
Past Allegations
This is not the first time Mingus Reedus has faced allegations of assault. In 2022, he accepted a plea deal after being accused of punching a woman at the San Gennaro festival in New York City. At the time, he claimed the incident was accidental and that he was defending himself after being swarmed by the woman and her friends.
The investigation into the current allegations is ongoing. Further details are expected to emerge as the case proceeds through the legal system.
