Eminem's 'Scary Moment': Fans Chase Him, Daughter! What Happened?!
Eminem is opening up about the intense side of fame in his new documentary, 'Stans.' The film, streaming August 26th on Paramount+, delves into the complex relationship between the rap icon and his most devoted fans. While exploring how Eminem's music has helped people cope with addiction, loss, and mental health, it also reveals instances where fans crossed boundaries, making him feel unsafe.
A Frightening Mall Encounter
In the documentary, Eminem recounts a particularly alarming experience at a mall with his young daughter, Hailie Jade. "It was the last time I went to the mall as me, like, not disguised," Eminem, 52, recalls. "Every store we went in, we come out and there's a bigger crowd, a bigger crowd, a bigger crowd." The situation escalated rapidly, forcing him to scoop up his daughter and make a hasty exit.
"It literally felt like I was being chased out of the mall," Eminem says. "That was one of those moments when I realized my life really has changed. I can’t do this anymore because I’ve got to protect my baby. That was a scary moment. It was scary for her, too. I asked and she doesn't remember it.”
'Stans' Documentary Explores Fan Obsession
The 'Stans' documentary explores the dangers of parasocial relationships and fan obsession, a theme deeply rooted in Eminem's music, particularly his iconic song 'Stan.'
Eminem's 'STANS' Popcorn Bucket
Adding to the buzz around the documentary, theaters are offering a unique 'STANS' popcorn bucket resembling an Rx pill bottle, a nod to Eminem's past struggles and the character Stanley Mitchell from the song 'Stan'.
The bucket features the words, "Take to get out of bed" and "Remember it’s not so bad," written as instructions. These limited-edition buckets are already appearing on eBay, urging fans to grab one while they can.
