Korea Open: Krejcikova Dominates, Raducanu Match Washed Out!
Barbora Krejcikova cruised into the second round of the Korea Open 2025 presented by Motiva after a decisive 6-1, 6-2 victory over qualifier Tatiana Prozorova. The match, lasting just 1 hour and 16 minutes, was one of the few to be completed on Day 2 due to persistent rain in Seoul.
Krejcikova’s match was initially delayed by over two hours, and shortly after her win, the rain returned, further disrupting the tournament schedule. Her next opponent will be the winner of the postponed match between No. 8 seed Emma Raducanu and Jaqueline Cristian.
Only one other match saw any play on Tuesday. No. 5 seed Diana Shnaider split sets with qualifier Caty McNally, with McNally taking the first set 6-2 and Shnaider responding with a 6-2 win of her own before the rain forced a halt to proceedings.
Several other matches were also postponed, including No. 6 seed and defending champion Beatriz Haddad Maia's opener against wild card Back Dayeon, Suzan Lamens against Tatjana Maria, and Sorana Cirstea against lucky loser Anastasia Zakharova. The weather has significantly impacted the tournament schedule, forcing organizers to reschedule multiple matches for Wednesday.
