Jets QB Shakeup! Tyrod Taylor Starts, Rookie Cook Elevated! MUST READ!
Jets Announce QB Changes Ahead of Buccaneers Clash!
The New York Jets have made some key roster moves ahead of their Sunday matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Veteran quarterback Tyrod Taylor is set to start, with rookie Brady Cook elevated to the active roster to serve as his backup. This comes as Justin Fields is sidelined due to concussion protocol.
Brady Cook, an undrafted free agent signing, will be active for the first time. During the preseason, Cook showed promise, completing 65.8% of his passes for 235 yards, with one touchdown and one interception. His college career at Missouri saw him amass 8,591 passing yards and 46 touchdowns.
In addition to Cook's elevation, safety Dean Clark has also been added to the active roster. Clark, also an undrafted free agent, impressed during the preseason with 9 tackles, 1 sack, 1 interception, and 2 pass deflections. His special teams experience will also be valuable for the Jets.
Fields Out, Taylor In
With Justin Fields unavailable, Tyrod Taylor, a seasoned NFL veteran, will take the reins at quarterback. The Jets are hoping Taylor's experience will provide stability as they face the Buccaneers.
Other NFL Injury Updates
The Jets aren't the only team dealing with quarterback injuries. Brock Purdy of the San Francisco 49ers is battling a toe injury, while Jayden Daniels of the Washington Commanders sat out practice with a sprained knee. The NFL season is underway, and injuries are already playing a significant role.
