Ricky Stenhouse Jr. & Carson Hocevar Feud: Payback at Michigan?
The tension is palpable at Michigan International Speedway (MIS) this weekend: Will Ricky Stenhouse Jr. seek revenge on Carson Hocevar for their incident at Nashville Superspeedway? Last week, Hocevar's aggressive driving sent Stenhouse into the wall, resulting in a last-place finish for Stenhouse while Hocevar secured a career-best second-place finish.
Denny Hamlin's Prediction: "Payback is Coming"
Fellow NASCAR driver Denny Hamlin added fuel to the fire on his podcast, stating definitively, "Ricky Stenhouse will absolutely wreck Carson Hocevar sometime in the near future." Hamlin predicted Stenhouse would opt for on-track retribution rather than a physical confrontation. "If you're Carson, just know that it's coming. So don't be surprised," Hamlin warned.
Stenhouse's History of Retaliation
Stenhouse has a history of payback. In 2024, after being knocked out of the All-Star Race, he famously punched Kyle Busch in the pits, an action that resulted in a hefty $75,000 fine. When questioned immediately after the Nashville race about confronting Hocevar, Stenhouse quipped that doing so “costs too much money.”
Hocevar's Perspective: "Productive" Conversation, No Expected Retaliation
Hocevar reached out to Stenhouse on Wednesday to address the situation, describing the conversation as “productive.” He doesn't anticipate any payback during Sunday's FireKeepers Casino 400 at MIS.
While the Nashville incident marks Stenhouse's first major run-in with Hocevar, the young driver from Portage, Michigan, is quickly gaining a reputation for aggressive racing, with a growing list of competitors voicing their displeasure.
Will Stenhouse keep his cool, or will we see fireworks on the track at Michigan International Speedway? Stay tuned to find out!
