WNBA Fans Banned! Sex Toys Thrown on Court Cause Chaos & Outrage!
WNBA Cracks Down After Inappropriate Objects Thrown on Court
The WNBA is taking a firm stance against disruptive and disrespectful behavior after two recent incidents involving sex toys being thrown onto the court during games. The league has announced that anyone caught throwing objects onto the court will face immediate ejection from the arena, a minimum one-year ban from all WNBA events, and potential arrest and prosecution by local authorities. This decision comes after incidents during games between the Atlanta Dream and Golden State Valkyries, and later between the Valkyries and the Chicago Sky.
The first incident occurred on July 29th during a game between the Atlanta Dream and the Golden State Valkyries at Gateway Center Arena. A neon green dildo was thrown onto the court late in the fourth quarter, causing a stoppage in play. An official kicked the object off the court, and it was removed by a police officer. The fan responsible has been arrested.
Unfortunately, a copycat incident occurred just days later during a game between the Valkyries and the Chicago Sky at Wintrust Arena in Chicago. Another sex toy was thrown onto the court, halting play and sparking outrage among players and fans.
"It's super disrespectful," Chicago Sky center Elizabeth Williams told reporters. "I don't really get the point of it. It's really immature. Whoever's doing it just needs to grow up."
Other WNBA players have voiced their concerns and frustrations on social media. New York Liberty forward Isabelle Harrison wrote on X: "ARENA SECURITY?! Hello??! Please do better. It’s not funny. never was funny. Throwing ANYTHING on the court is so dangerous." Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham echoed this sentiment, writing: "Stop throwing dildos on the court… you’re going to hurt one of us."
The WNBA has emphasized that the safety and well-being of everyone in its arenas is a top priority. Throwing objects onto the court poses a significant safety risk to players, game officials, and fans. The league's swift and decisive response aims to deter future incidents and ensure a safe and respectful environment for all.
