Agadir Hospital Death: Probe Launched! What REALLY Happened?

Agadir Hospital Death Sparks Investigation

A recent mother's tragic death at Hassan II Hospital in Agadir, Morocco, has prompted a full investigation by a medical committee. The woman was transferred from Al-Mokhtar Soussi Hospital in Biougra shortly before her death on Tuesday, October 7th.

According to a statement from the Souss-Massa regional health directorate, the woman arrived at Al-Mokhtar Soussi Hospital's maternity ward in an emergency. She received immediate attention from an obstetrics and gynecology specialist and nursing staff. An assessment determined that a cesarean section was necessary for the safety of both the mother and her child. The procedure was performed under appropriate conditions with medical team oversight.

Following the delivery, the woman reportedly experienced severe bleeding, requiring a second surgical intervention at the same hospital. She was then urgently transferred to the intensive care unit at Hassan II Regional Hospital in Agadir, a facility sometimes referred to as the “death hospital.” Despite all medical interventions, her condition worsened, ultimately leading to her death.

The health directorate confirmed that the newborn is currently under continuous medical monitoring by a specialist team.

The Souss-Massa regional health directorate refuted claims circulating on social media about the absence of specialist obstetricians at the hospital. Instead, they confirmed the launch of a comprehensive medical and administrative investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. The aim is to determine accountability and take appropriate action in accordance with the law.

The investigation seeks to uncover the facts surrounding the mother's death and address any potential shortcomings in the medical care provided.
