Türkiye to Gaza: Ready to Assist with Peacekeeping & Reconstruction!

Türkiye is poised to play a significant role in the post-conflict stabilization of Gaza. The Turkish Ministry of Defence has affirmed the readiness of the Turkish Armed Forces to join the Gaza Task Force, signaling a strong commitment to international peacekeeping and humanitarian efforts.

Türkiye's Role in Gaza: A Focus on Peace and Reconstruction

Defence Ministry spokesman Zeki Akturk highlighted Türkiye's extensive experience in international missions, emphasizing the army's professionalism and impartiality, which have earned respect across various parties. "Our Armed Forces, which have extensive experience in establishing and maintaining peace, stand ready to undertake any mission assigned to them," Akturk stated.

President Erdogan has explicitly stated that Ankara will join a ground task force to monitor the Gaza ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. This initiative is part of a US-brokered deal under President Trump, signaling international collaboration in securing the region. Beyond peacekeeping, Türkiye has also pledged to assist in the rebuilding of Gaza, addressing the severe humanitarian crisis that has plagued the region for the past two years.

Humanitarian Aid and a Two-State Solution

Akturk expressed satisfaction with the ceasefire, which resulted from Türkiye's mediation efforts, underscoring the urgent need for humanitarian aid and reconstruction. "We hope that the ceasefire will contribute to establishing a just and lasting peace and ultimately serve the two-state solution," he added.

The Israeli army's gradual troop withdrawal from Gaza, aligning with President Trump's plan, further paves the way for Türkiye's involvement. The nation's commitment extends beyond military presence, focusing on fostering long-term stability and a viable future for the region.

Türkiye views the recent elections in Syria as a positive step for regional security, indicating a broader commitment to stability in the region.
