Rangers are set to face Kilmarnock at Rugby Park, aiming to bounce back from recent draws and secure a crucial victory in the Scottish Premiership. The Light Blues are determined to return to winning ways after two consecutive league draws.
Mindset is Key for Rangers
Ahead of his first trip to Ayrshire, Rangers' Head Coach Danny Röhl emphasized the importance of a winning mindset. "It is a different kind of game playing there [on an artificial pitch], but a lot of teams before have won on there and showed that you can do it," Röhl stated. "I think this is also the mindset, and not looking for excuses, be prepared and make a good game. Go there and take the points, and go home."
Adapting to the Pitch
Röhl acknowledged the challenges posed by the artificial pitch, stating, "We checked about this pitch to get an impression. It is important to take the players with you; they know the pitch better, and I spoke with some other players." He added, "You have to understand which areas we can play football and which areas maybe you have to avoid."
Team News: Moore Returns, Sterling Sidelined
Rangers received a boost with the return of Mikey Moore from injury. "Mikey [Moore] trained with us today, and if there is no reaction, he will be back in the squad tomorrow, which is good news," Röhl confirmed. However, Dujon Sterling will miss the game due to concerns about the artificial pitch. "Dujon [Sterling] is not available for the game, of course, with the pitch, you have to be careful, and all the others are still the same."
Moore's Impact
Röhl highlighted Moore's potential impact, particularly his ability to operate between the lines. "I think he [Moore] showed especially in the Dundee game when he scored, which skills he has, especially between the lines," he said. "He gives us these moments between the lines, he can have good decision-making, give and goes, good finishing."
The match promises to be a tough encounter, with Rangers needing to adapt to the artificial pitch and maintain a positive mindset to secure the vital three points.
