Former President Thabo Mbeki has made a powerful call for unity amongst Africans, urging them to embrace peaceful coexistence and refrain from attacking each other. His remarks came during the 15th-anniversary celebration of the Thabo Mbeki Foundation.
Mbeki expressed his deep concern over groups like "Operation Dudula," highlighting the pain caused by such divisions. He emphasized that South Africa's challenges originate within the country itself and are not the fault of foreign nationals. He stressed the importance of Africans working together to solve their own problems.
“It hurts to see groups such as Operation Dudula,” Mbeki stated, adding that the Thabo Mbeki Foundation is often approached by people across the continent seeking assistance. This, he believes, places a significant responsibility on the Foundation to foster dialogue and collaboration amongst African people to address the challenges they face collectively.
The Thabo Mbeki Foundation also celebrated its 15th anniversary. The Foundation uses vision, perseverance and Ubuntu to achieve its goals.
The anniversary celebration included reflections on the Foundation's past achievements and a renewed commitment to its mission of promoting peace, development, and good governance across the African continent.
