SASSA has announced the payment dates for November 2025 grants. Here's what you need to know:
- Older Persons Grant: Tuesday, 4 November 2025
- Disability Grant: Wednesday, 5 November 2025
- Children’s and All Other Grants: Thursday, 6 November 2025
The Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant will be paid in batches on different dates. Check the SASSA website for your specific payment date.
Important: Biometric Enrolment
SASSA reminds all new applicants about mandatory biometric enrolment. This is to help prevent fraud. Since 1 September, all new grant applications require a fingerprint or facial scan.
Over 40,000 SASSA beneficiaries have already completed biometric enrolment. This helps ensure that grants are going to the right people.
Small Increase for October 2025 Senior Grants
There's been a lot of talk about extra payments for SASSA recipients. It's important to understand that social grant recipients in South Africa won’t get any special bonus payments in October 2025. The government has confirmed that everyone will only receive a standard R10 increase to their grants.
This increase applies to several grants:
- People aged 60 to 74 will now get R3,230.
- Those who are 75 and older will receive R3,250.
- People with disabilities and those who need care support will get R3,230.
- Foster parents will now receive R1,230 for each child.
- The child support payment goes up to R550.
These new amounts already include the standard increase that applies to everyone who gets grants.
Who Qualifies?
The extra money is only for people who already receive SASSA grants. To qualify, you need to be at least 60 years old and legally reside in South Africa. There are also income and asset requirements. This increase is not for new applicants.
