Black Coffee: 'No More Marriage for Me!'
South African DJ and record producer extraordinaire, Black Coffee, has made a bold declaration: he will never remarry. The Grammy-winning artist opened up about his decision, citing a newfound understanding of himself and a rejection of societal pressures.
In a recent appearance on Podcast and Chill, Black Coffee revealed the pressures he faced, particularly from his parents, to settle down after achieving wealth and fame. He explained, "I wonât get married again. Iâm clear about that because I am now in a better space in understanding who I am. I also understand the kind of pressure society puts you in without ever backing you up."
He elaborated on the societal expectations that followed his success: "With my career, especially because it wasnât so obvious... as soon as it popped, everyone was wowed. I bought my first house and car, and they [my parents] were like, âWhen are you getting a wife?'"
Black Coffee, a father of four, emphasized that staying single is the best path for his career and personal well-being. His previous marriage to actress Enhle Mbali Mlotshwa ended in 2019 amidst infidelity allegations. The couple has two children together, and Black Coffee has two other children from previous relationships.
