Detective's Tears: Witness A Breaks Down at Madlanga Commission!

A police detective, identified only as Witness A, became emotional at the Madlanga Commission on Tuesday as he wrapped up his two-day testimony. The commission, chaired by Justice Mbuyiseli Madlanga, is investigating allegations of criminality, political interference, and corruption within the criminal justice system.

Witness A, who investigates criminal cartels, testified about his team's success in solving the murder of Vereeniging Engineer, Armand Swart. However, this victory came at a significant personal cost, requiring 24-hour protection for both him and his colleague, Witness B.

Despite the risks, Witness A told the Commission that he would make the same choices again, even without the safety of a safe house. He explained, "I have met the families of the victims and when I speak to them, they are grateful for the work that we are doing as a team. Even those families where arrests have not yet been made, they appreciate that someone is working on the case to bring justice to their loved ones. The satisfaction that I am making and making a difference. Eish…. (breaks down)."

Evidence leader advocate Lee Segeels-Ncube paused to ask, "Witness A, are you okay?"

Witness A's testimony is now complete. Witness B is scheduled to testify at 9:30 this morning.
