Leeds United is heading to the South Coast to take on Brighton & Hove Albion this Saturday, and the news from Elland Road is overwhelmingly positive! Manager Daniel Farke has confirmed that he has a full squad at his disposal, a welcome change from recent weeks. This means more competition for places and a stronger team ready to battle it out on the pitch.
Farke Delighted with Squad Depth
"It is way better," Farke stated, clearly pleased with the situation. "I have nothing to report, nothing to complain about. No illnesses, no injuries, so everyone is training, we have a proper group and everyone is available, proper competition. A situation I prefer much more."
While Farke acknowledges that a fully fit squad doesn't guarantee victory, he believes it puts Leeds in a much stronger position compared to previous weeks. The team is riding high after a successful week, and the improved squad depth will only boost their confidence.
Gnonto Returns to Contention
Adding to the good news, Italian international Willy Gnonto is back in training after a spell on the sidelines due to a calf injury and subsequent surgery. While he's unlikely to start against Brighton, his return provides Farke with another attacking option.
What Farke Said About Gnonto
"He has trained for the first time since his, I would label it a bit long-term injury with his calf problems and then his surgery, his first full training week. After being out so long, he is not a topic for the starting lineup, definitely not, but he had the first full training week and also is in the competition. We will see if we take him already, perhaps even with us to the game. Lots of competition at the moment, no one is missing, so I like it."
With a full squad and competition for places heating up, Leeds United will be looking to take all three points from their clash with Brighton. The game promises to be an exciting encounter!
