New York City was buzzing with excitement as thousands gathered to witness the inflation of the iconic Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade balloons. This year's parade, scheduled for Thanksgiving 2025, promises to be bigger and better than ever, featuring beloved characters and dazzling performances.
New Balloons Take Flight
Crowds of eager spectators, especially children, lined the Upper West Side to get a sneak peek at the giant balloons as they were filled with helium. Among the new additions this year are Buzz Lightyear, Pac-Man, Super Mario, and Shrek, guaranteeing smiles and cheers from attendees of all ages.
One of the most anticipated debuts is Derpy the Tiger from Netflix’s "K Pop Demon Hunters." The crowd erupted in chants of "Derpy, Derpy, Derpy" as the character balloon took shape. "This is my favorite movie ever," exclaimed 10-year-old Marisa, captivated by the supernatural tiger.
Spectacular Floats and Performances
The 2025 parade will also showcase incredible new floats, including The Land of Glaciers, Wildlife & Wonder by Holland America Line, The Counting Sheep’s Dream Generator by Serta, Master Chocolatier by Lindt, Upside Down Invasion: Stranger Things by Netflix, and The Littlest Float from Goldfish. Pop Mart and the LEGO Group are also bringing exciting new additions.
The parade will feature a total of 27 floats and 36 giant balloons, accompanied by performances from Cynthia Erivo, Conan Gray, Lady Wilson, and K Pop Demon Hunters. The Netflix stars will be making their live performance debut at the parade, adding even more excitement to the event.
