Gauteng Prepares for Potential Weekend Showers
Johannesburg – After the recent chill swept through, Gauteng residents might need to keep their umbrellas handy. The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued a weather advisory, indicating a 30% chance of rainfall across parts of the province this weekend.
Initial forecasts anticipated a significant cold front, migrating from the Western Cape through KwaZulu-Natal and Mpumalanga, before reaching Gauteng. This front was expected to bring a combination of lower temperatures, rainfall, and gusty winds. However, the latest weather models paint a slightly different picture.
"While the cold front has largely passed, Gauteng is likely to experience partly cloudy conditions throughout the weekend," explains forecaster Tokelo Chiloane. "There's a 30% probability of showers, so it's advisable to stay prepared."
Meanwhile, the Western Cape is predicted to enjoy fine and cool weather, with no rainfall expected. So, if you're planning a trip, the Cape might be the drier destination this weekend.
